Education, School Choice, and Workforce Development
Education is the great equalizer in American society. I believe that every North Carolinian should have the chance to succeed, and we provide that opportunity by giving everyone quality education. That is why I strongly support increasing federal grant funding to charter schools and workforce development programs and giving parents tax credits that will allow them to make the best choice possible for their child’s education.
I also strongly believe there is no place for the federal government in the classroom. Decisions about what is taught in our schools should be made at the local level with heavy input from parents and the community. Any federal funding coming into our schools should be coming with no strings attached. It’s time for our schools to listen more to our parents and less to Washington!
