Personal
John Aneralla moved to Mecklenburg County in 1986 to begin his career in the financial services industry. He and his wife of over 20 years Nancy, their children, Amanda and Bennett, have lived in Huntersville since 1997.
John grew up in Huntington Station, NY; a Long Island town located about 30 miles east of New York City. He is a 1984 graduate of the University of Georgia, attending on a full athletic swimming scholarship and earned his MBA in management from Hofstra University in 1986.
Professional Experience
John began his career as a financial consultant for E.F. Hutton in 1986. After nine years with E.F. Hutton and successor companies, he moved to Long Island to work as a consultant to small public and private companies.
John returned to Mecklenburg County in 1997 and established Buttonwood Advisory Group, Inc., an investor relations consulting firm for small publicly traded companies. He has consulted for public and private companies in a broad range of industries, including aerospace, computer equipment and software, consumer products, manufacturing, medical technology and telecommunications.
In January 2002, John began working for Davidson Capital Corporation, as Vice President & Director of Research. In the fall of 2004, he established Bulldog Asset Management, Inc., an investment advisory firm specializing in asset allocation to achieve individual client needs.
Volunteerism
Through his membership at Davidson United Methodist Church, John teaches Sunday school and volunteers for a variety of charities. In 2008, he received the Empowerment Community Award from the Westside Organization for his charity work with New Outreach Ministry.
As a lifelong competitive swimmer, John has been active in coaching at all levels of competition. He has volunteered as a coach for Davidson College, MAC Masters, Mecklenburg Aquatic Club and local neighborhood swim teams. He also has been active in leading two swim leagues in North Meck. John coached several years for St. Mark's Interfaith basketball teams and was a past soccer coach and president of the North Meck Soccer Club.
Political Experience
Since 2001, John has been active in the precinct organization of the Mecklenburg County Republican party serving as a precinct Chairman, precinct Supervisor, Assistant precinct organization Chairman, and the County Chairman from 2004-2007. He recently served as the Republican 9th Congressional District Chairman from 2007 - 2010.
